《Wallpaper》made in china -issue
Wallpaper* published a special June issue, Made in China, for which the magazine temporarily moved its office to Beijing and Shanghai. Editor-in-chief Tony Chambers said: "Our China special has literally been Made in China. We produced the content there, looking out from the country, not just looking in. It was an adventure that very few magazines would be able to embark on, and the result is a truer, deeper take on the forces driving China forward. It’s an issue our readers will devour."
去年，Wallpaper杂志考虑对金砖四国（BRIC Nations， Brazil、Russia、Indie、China）做一个深入的报导，然而全球经济快速地变迁，把这四个国家在放在同一期杂志当中介绍，将是一项庞大的工程，最终杂志决定用一期介绍一个国家的方式进行，而中国就成了优先报导的对象。今年，Wallpaper来到中国，在北京当代MoMA和上海外滩租下临时办公室，开始中国制造。
这或许是Wallpaper杂志对中国当代艺术的一次绝妙礼赞，也算是中国时尚、建筑、设计、艺术、文化等领域的一次集体光鲜亮相，可以看到外国人（或许单单只是英国人）眼中最能带领未来中国“腾飞（也是这期中国特刊的封面主题）”的力量。整体杂志的结构还算完整，甄选人物标杆可以看出一本商业杂志的独到眼光，封面取景于北京三里屯，由摄影师姜海龙（Hailong Jiang）与艺术家李暐打造。香烟、经典国货、中药等中国符号与图腾得到充分发掘，杂志LOGO中融合了五角星，通篇的色彩取自中国国旗的红、黄两色，顺带也把Wallpaper.com网站的导航条也变成中英结合，更在网站背景上写上大大的“中国制造”。
